This programme is focussed on building accessible pathways to employment for young people by delivering tailored training sessions that address the additional barriers young people who identify as D/deaf, disabled, neurodivergent or who have learning disabilities face in the workplace.

This role includes:

  • Planning content and delivery of workshops focused on employment skills appropriate for Participants with different access needs

  • Ensuring skills development is a focus for workshop planning

  • Delivering workshops in line with the programme’s aims and objectives

  • Ensuring equity and inclusion are core to session content and delivery; adjusting as needed to meet individual, group and conflicting access needs

  • Preparing equipment and materials needed for workshops

  • Creating a safe and supportive environment during workshops and especially looking after the welfare and health and safety of Participants with potentially complex access needs

  • Report on the progress of Creative Support Workers and Participants to the Inclusion Programme Manager

  • Guiding Participants through creating and delivering Participant-led events

  • Supporting the development of Assistant Facilitators

  • Raising any safeguarding or welfare concerns with the Inclusion Programme Manager

  • Incorporating young people’s views, requests and feedback throughout the programme, adjusting as necessary

  • Supporting trips and additional activity as required

    How to Apply

As part of the application process, we’ll ask you a few questions (these may vary depending on the role) and invite you to upload a CV that outlines your work experience and qualifications.

One key question we ask that will be part of the scoring process is:
Please give examples of how your skills, abilities, and experience equip you for this role. We’d also like to understand your reasons for applying.”

These questions take the place of a traditional cover letter and give you the chance to show why you’re a great fit for the role you’re applying for. Your responses will play an important part in the overall scoring process, so we encourage you to take your time and answer as fully as you can.

When preparing your answers, we recommend using the job description and person specification as a guide, as they’ll help you highlight the skills and experience most relevant to this role.

We understand that everyone communicates differently, so you can choose the format that works best for you. This could be a written application, or you might prefer to record a video or audio file instead. If you choose video or audio, please keep your CV and application combined to no longer than 7 minutes.

If you need any support or have questions about the process, we’re here to help! Email us at recruitment@sheffieldtheatres.co.uk
